Homicide victim ID’ed

COLUMBUS – Authorities have identified a woman who was initially thought to have been hit by a vehicle in an East Side intersection but was later determined to have been fatally shot.

Police and Franklin County Coroner’s Dr. Anahi Ortiz’s office say Fannings-Frum, 59, was found just before 7:30 Saturday night at the intersection of Fair Avenue and Napoleon Avenue near her home. County coroner on Wednesday identified the woman as Judith.

There was no identification on the woman when her body was found.

The Columbus Dispatch reports that medics determined that she was shot and not hit by a vehicle, as some initially thought at the time.

Homicide investigators did not have many leads in the case, Sgt. Christ Holzhauser said.

The investigation continues.
