COLUMBUS – A motorcyclist and his wife were killed when their bike collided with an SUV in Jackson Township Wednesday night.
Franklin County Sheriff Dallas Baldwin says Rickey Ross, 60, and Kimberley Ross, 49, both of Columbus, were on a motorcycle traveling northbound on U.S. Route 62 north of Orders Road at approximately 10:57 p.m. when they struck a Ford Explorer, operated by Renee Mantkowski, 55, as she was turning left into a private driveway.
The Rosses were taken to Grant Grant Medical Center where Rickey Ross was pronounced dead at 11:31 p.m. and Kimberly Ross was pronounced dead at 11:53 p.m., Baldwin said.
The driver and passenger of a second motorcycle, which also struck Mantkowski’s vehicle, were treated and released at the scene.
The accident remains under investigation.
