COLUMBUS, Ohio – Planned bridge repairs will shut down a heavily traveled ramp near downtown for three weeks beginning Monday morning.

The ramp from I-70 West to SR 315 North, a popular link between downtown and the OSU campus and Riverside Methodist Hospital will be closed for repairs that include removal bad concrete on the deck, repairing the bridge walls, placing a new concrete overlay on the bridge deck and resurfacing the ramp, according to Ohio Department of Transportation District 6 spokeswoman Nancy Burton.
Then work is scheduled to be finished by Sept. 1, Burton says.
The ramp will close for just 21 days but Burton says crews will close interstates, a state Route and a half dozen ramps to set up the construction zone for staging the traffic set-up before any work begins.

8:00 p.m – the following ramps will close:
E. Main St. to I-70 West
S. Third St. to I-70 West
W. Mound St. (Second St.) to I-70 West
Greenlawn Ave. to I-71 North
I-670 East to SR 315 North. The detour is I-670 east to I-70 east to I-71 north.
I-70 West will be reduced to one lane at I-71 North and I-71 North at SR 315 North is reduced to one lane.

I-70 West will be detoured to I-71 north to I-670 west to SR 315 south.

By 5:00 a.m. Monday, ODOT says the set-up will be complete and the above closures will open.
Starting with the Monday morning rush, the traffic pattern will be:
The ramp from I-70 West to SR 315 North will be closed. During this time, the ramp from I-70 West to Town/Rich Streets will be made available for motorists on westbound I-70 to use to access SR 315 North.
To access W. Town and W. Rich streets, motorists should follow signs to exit at US 33/Long St/Dublin Rd and turn left to access the ramp back to SR 315 South. Crews will be making bridge repairs, weather permitting.
Drivers should expect some night lane closures on SR 315 North and I-70.
