Indians 1, Clippers 0

COLUMBUS, Ohio – In their first game back from the All-Star break, the Clippers fell to the Indianapolis Indians 1-0 at Huntington Park Thursday night.

The loss ended a four-game winning streak.

Brandon Cumpton (5-1) was dominant, pitching eight shutout innings. Tyler Sturdevant (1-1) allowed the Indians’ lone run in the ninth.

Dean Anna hit a sacrifice fly to score Chris McGuiness, who had led off the inning with a double.

Danny Salazar (3-6) was solid, allowing no runs on three hits and striking out five batters in 5 2/3 innings, but got no decision.

Game two of four is at 7:15 p.m. Friday night.
