CLEVELAND (AP) — Francisco Lindor and Edwin Encarnacion hit sixth-inning home runs and the Indians beat the Chicago Cubs 4-1.
The win came despite thd Indians losing relief ace Andrew Miller to a left hamstring injury.
Miller grabbed the back of his leg after throwing two pitches to Anthony Rizzo in the seventh inning. He was visited by manager Terry Francona and a team trainer before walking to the dugout.
The team announced he had left hamstring tightness.
Veteran outfielder Melky Cabrera will report to extended spring training after signing a minor league contract.
Francona says the 33-year-old Cabrera will spend approximately 7-to-10 days at the team’s complex in Arizona before joining a minor league team.
