Indians 6, Clippers 3 (12)

COLUMBUS – The Indianapolis Indians topped the Clippers Monday night, 6-3, in 12 innings in a game between the top two teams in the International League West.

The win moves the Indians’ division lead to two games with seven games remaining on the Clippers’ regular season schedule, all against division opponents, three against Indianapolis.

Jesus Aguilar and Zach Walters both homered for Columbus, Walters tying the score in the 11th inning to keep the Clippers’ chances alive. Aguilar knotted the score at 2-2 in the bottom of the 8th.

Trey Haley (4-2) had a rocky outing and took the loss for Columbus, giving up a go-ahead run in the 11th and allowing the first two batters to reach base in the 12th. They both scored on a Willy Garcia single, part of a three-run inning for Indianapolis.

The Clippers and Indians battle again Tuesday at Huntington Park at 7:05 p.m.
