COLUMBUS – The back-and-forth series between the Clippers and the Indianapolis Indians ended with a 6-3 Indians win Thursday night, which left Indy sitting atop the International League West Division standings.
Columbus had already clinched a playoff spot, but trails the Indians by one game with four to play. The Clippers play two in Louisville before returning to Huntington Park to close out the regular season with two games against Toledo.
Jordan Cooper (4-3) gave up five of Indians’ runs to take the loss.
Gorkys Hernandez went 2-for3 with two runs and Josh Bell scored a run a notched 2 RBIs on 2-for-4 hitting as the Indians built a 5-1 lead through six innings and held off the Clippers.
