Indians swept out of post-season

CLEVELAND (AP) — The Houston Astros advanced to the AL Championship Series for the second straight year with an 11-3 win and sweep of the Indians in the division round.

The Indians waited all season for an October that ended quickly. Cleveland was swept in stunning fashion by Houston, who outplayed the AL Central champions in every facet during three games.

The Indians didn’t hit and the problems with their suspect bullpen carried over into the postseason.

Marwin Gonzalez had three RBIs and the Astros were helped by two throwing errors from Indians pitcher Trevor Bauer in the seventh inning.

Cleveland was knocked out in the division series for the second year in a row and remain without a World Series title since 1948.
