COLUMBUS – The Clippers missed a chance to sweep Indianapolis in the Governor’s Cup finals Thursday night when the Indians rallied to a 6-5 win at home in Game 3 of the best-of-five series.
Joseph Colon gave up the winning run in the bottom of the 8th inning to take the loss for Columbus.
Zach Walters hit for the cycle on a 4-for-4 night at the plate, scoring one of the two Columbus runs that scored in the 2nd, giving the Clippers a 4-0 lead with a solo home run in the 4th, and scoring the run that tied the score at 5-5 in the 8th.
Keon Broxton score the game-winning run in the bottom of the inning on a fielder’s choice ground ball off the bat of Gustavo Nunez.
The Clippers lead the series 2-1. Game 4 is Friday night.
