COLUMBUS – Police say a Linden area homeowner shot an intruder to death Sunday afternoon.
Darryl Francis, 36, called police just before 3:15 a.m. to report that a man was trying to kick in the back door into his home on Duxberry Avenue, according to Homicide Unit Sgt. Jeffrey Strayer.
When the officers arrived, Francis told them that Tory Jones had forced his way into the home and attacked him and Francis shot him.
Jones, 26, was pronounced dead at the scene, said Strayer.
No charges had been filed by late Sunday but the investigation continues, Strayer said.
