CLEVELAND (AP) — It’s show time for the Browns.
After an offseason of hype bordering on hysteria, the Browns open their season Sunday against the Tennessee Titans.
Cleveland has become a trendy Super Bowl pick after adding star receiver Odell Beckham Jr. to an offense led by Baker Mayfield, who set a rookie record for touchdowns past season.
Beckham, who came to Cleveland from New York in a blockbuster trade in March, is still not at full speed because of a nagging hip injury.
He was kept out of the four preseason games to manage the unspecified ailment. The three-time Pro Bowler said he’s been “afraid” to run as fast as he can to this point.
Beckham said he has been undergoing daily treatment and hopes to be as close to 100 percent as possible for Sunday’s opener against Tennessee.
Tennessee just missed the playoffs last season.
