It’s the Cotton Bowl for the Buckeyes

COLUMBUS – Ohio State is going to the Cotton Bowl against Southern California after being left out of the playoff.

The teams have played each other seven times in the Rose Bowl.

Both are 11-2 this season and conference champs. The Buckeyes were No. 5 in the final College Football Playoff rankings of the season while the Trojans were No. 8.

Ohio State won the Big Ten and USC won the Pac-12.

The Cotton Bowl is played at AT&T Stadium (8:30 p.m./ESPN), where the Buckeyes won the national championship three seasons ago in the first title game under the current four-team playoff.

Ohio State receives approximately 13,000 tickets for the game, at $165 apiece. If any tickets are available to general public tickets be available after priority requests from season ticket holders, faculty, staff and students are fulfilled, a public sale will be held, starting with fans whose names are on a waiting list on the Department of Athletics website.
