COLUMBUS, Ohio – The downtown Columbus air will be thick with the mouth-watering aroma of barbecued ribs this weekend as the 35th annual Jazz and Rib Fest,returns to the Arena District riverfront.
The festival, presented by the Columbus Recreation and Parks Department, features music acts on three stages and – most important – 23 award-winning barbecue teams
The 2014 festival takes place where Neil Avenue intersects with W. Long Street at North Bank Park beginning Friday at 11:00 a.m. and lasting through Sunday at 8:30 p.m.
Streets will begin closing for the festival Thursday morning, though Hanover Street closed at 9:00 a.m. Wednesday between W. Spring and W. Long Streets.
Motorists are advised to watch carefully for extra pedestrian and bicycle traffic.
Those headed to the event are encouraged to walk, bike, take COTA or carpool to help with traffic and parking.
