Jones suspended 1 game for groin kick

NEW YORK (AP) — Cleveland’s Dahntay Jones has been suspended for one game by the NBA for striking Toronto’s Bismack Biyombo in the groin.

The league also fined Raptors coach Dwane Casey $25,000 on Sunday for his criticisms of the officiating.

Biyombo, who set a Toronto playoff record with 26 rebounds in the 99-84 win over the Cavaliers Saturday night, remained on his knees on the court after time expired after Jones hit him with 17.6 seconds remaining. The little-used reserve will miss Game 4 of the series Monday night.

Casey’s comments, including his belief that Biyombo isn’t getting enough calls, came in his postgame press conference.

DeMar DeRozan scored 32 points as the Raptors rebounded in Game 3 after losing the first two games in Cleveland by a combined 50 points.

LeBron James scored 24 points, and J.R. Smith had 22 for the Cavaliers.

Game 4 is Monday night at Air Canada Centre.
