Kasich looks ahead to NH

COLUMBUS – Governor John Kasich spent the day yesterday campaigning in New Hampshire rather than Iowa.

The two-term governor barely registered in the Iowa caucuses, taking only 1.9 percent of the vote and is banking instead on strong showings in New Hampshire’s primary next Tuesday.

Ted Cruz was the winner of the Iowa Republican caucuses, Donald Trump was second and Marco Rubio was a close third.

Kasich has 19 town hall events scheduled in the Granite State between now and Monday, one of which will be his 100th such gathering, according to his campaign.

It was really close between Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders in the Democratic caucuses. The Clinton camp is claiming victory because of her earning at least 22 delegates to the party’s national convention to Sanders’ 21, with one left to be decided.
