COLUMBUS – A 15-year-old boy was facing felony charges after a shooting that left another teenager in stable condition, one of two shootings that left teenage victims injured.
Fifteen-year-old Sheazar Hobbs was charged with felonious assault in connection with a shooting in the area of E. Livingston Avenue and Shady Lane Rd. shortly after 2:40 p.m. that left Sammy Davis, 16, in stable condition at Grant Medical Center, according to Assault Unit detectives and postings on Columbus Division of Police social media sites.
Officers say Hobbs shot Davis in abdomen in front of several witnesses, who ran with a second male into a home on Janis Drive with the gun. SWAT officers took both boys in for questioning before charging Hobbs, said Det. Adam Federer of the Assault Unit.
Hobbs was taken to the Franklin County Court of Domestic relations for processing.
Samiah Flemister, 13, was standing outside a home on Hildreth Avenue talking to friends shortly after 10:10 p.m. when police say she was when she was shot by someone from across the street, detectives said.
Officers found Flemister inside the home and she was taken to an area hospital where she was treated for two gunshot wounds, police said.
