CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Jake Peter and Willy Garcia both homered, Carson Fulmer tossed five good innings, and the Charlotte Knights beat the Clippers, 10-4, Monday in the opening game of a four-game series at BB&T Ballpark.
The Knights strung together a three-run third inning, highlighted by Peter’s solo home run and a two-run home run from Garcia.
Shawn Morimando (10-6) was saddled with the loss, allowing eight runs on eight hits over six innings.
Fulmer (7-6) earned the win after he gave up four runs on seven hits over five innings.
The two teams continue their four-game series on Tuesday.
