Knights 5, Clippers 2 (10)

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Cody Sanchez’s three-run homer in the 10th sent the Clippers down to defeat, 5-2, at the hands of the Charlotte Knights Wednesday at Huntington Park.

The loss ended a two-game winning streak for Columbus.

Taylor Thompson (1-0) was the winner, pitching 2-1/3 hitless innings including the bottom of the 10th. Nick Hagadone (1-3) took the loss as he surrendered a single, error and th4e Sanchez home run in the 10th.

Columbus rallied to tie the game at 2-2 in the eighth inning but first baseman Andy Wilkins cut down Elliot Johnson from at the plate trying to score the go-ahead run.

The Clippers go for the series win Thursday at 6:35 p.m. at Huntington Park.
