COLUMBUS – Thousands of runners and walkers will line up in downtown Columbus Saturday morning for the 25th annual Komen Columbus Race for the Cure in support of breast cancer research and treatment.
Start times for different events Saturday:
7:00 a.m. Expo Starts on East Broad Street at the State House
8:45 a.m. 5K Start
9:15 a.m. Family Fun Walk Start

Anyone who wants to take part but has not registered can do so in person in the Community Room at Easton until 9:00 p.m. Friday online until 2:00 p.m., or from 6:00 – 8:30 a.m. on Race Day at the Vern Riffe Center, High Street entrance. Race Day Registration increases by $5
Street Closures and Race Routes:
Friday at 6 p.m. through Saturday at approximately 2 p.m.
E. Broad Street will close between High Street and Third Street
Saturday from 5 a.m. to about noon
N. Front Street will close between West Broad Street and West Long Street
High Street will close between Town Street and Broad Street
Expect long rolling closures along the routes
The race will be led by a “pinked out” Columbus police cruiser. The city’s Fleet Management Division has transformed a standard red, white and blue Division of Police cruiser to a “pinked out” vehicle for the occasion.

The event in Columbus is one of the nation’s largest and is expected to attract a crowd of more than 30,000 participants and spectators.
The 2017 edition has already raised over $294,000, according to the event website.
Susan G. Komen has invested more than $13.7 million in breast cancer research in Ohio and invested $920 million in global research.
