COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) – Funeral services have been announced for an Ohio State athlete found dead in a trash bin of an apparently self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head.
The services for Kosta Karageorge will be held Wednesday at the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Cathedral in Columbus with a private burial in Athens County.
The Franklin County coroner says a special examination will look for signs of traumatic brain injury related to a history of concussions.
Football teammates are remembering Karageorge, a walk-on player from Columbus, as hard-working and enthusiastic.
After Karageorge, 22, went missing, his mother, Susan, told police her son had had several concussions and a few spells of being extremely confused.
A woman looking for scrap metal found the body of the 22-year-old Karageorge on Sunday near his apartment in Columbus.
