COLUMBUS – State lawmakers are making another attempt at repealing Ohio’s “pink tax.”
A bipartisan package of legislation was introduced Tuesday to repeal state sales taxes on feminine hygiene products and baby diapers.

“Exempting feminine hygiene products and baby diapers from the state sales tax will benefit thousands of Ohioans. At a time when too many hardworking families are struggling to make ends meet, putting even a little money back in the pockets of consumers will go a long way,” said Rep. Brigid Kelly (D-Cincinnati) who co-sponsored the legislation with Rep. Niraj Antani (R-Miamisburg).
The Ohio House voted with bipartisan support in December to exempt tampons and pads from the state sales tax, but the Senate did not pick up the bill before the end of the legislative session.
“As a conservative Republican, I am strongly in favor of tax cuts that will help Ohioans keep more of their paychecks,” said Antani. “Feminine hygiene products as well as baby diapers are medical necessities and should not be taxed.”
The bill awaits committee assignment.
