Lebron: “All is forgiven. Signed, Ohio”

COLUMBUS, Ohio – By a fairly wide margin, Ohioans have forgiven Lebron James for leaving the Cavaliers for the Miami Heat and welcome him back home to the team where his NBA career began.

According to a Quinnipiac University poll, 62 percent of Ohioans forgive James for leaving the state while 12 percent continue to hold a grudge. About a quarter of those polled had no opinion.

More women than men this the two-year $42.2 million contract the Cavaliers signed James to is more than what he is worth.

“Men say 51-to-27 percent that he is worth the big bucks, while women say 46-to-31 percent that the Cavs paid too much,” said Peter Brown, assistant director of the Quinnipiac Poll.

The pollsters also asked Ohioans about their interest in Major League Baseball and found that 42 percent of them claimed the Cleveland Indians are their favorite team, while 34 percent cheer for the Cincinnati Reds.

A total of 49 percent of Ohio adults say they are “very interested” or “somewhat interested” in Major League Baseball.

Quinnipiac University surveyed 1,539 Ohio adults from July 24–28. The poll has a margin of error of +/- 2.5 percentage points.
