CINCINNATI (AP) — Reds broadcaster Marty Brennaman is beginning his final series after 46 years behind the microphone.
His final game will be Thursday, which he says will be the “hardest day” of his life.
He’s been touched by the many tributes and an outpouring of well wishes from fans.
Brennaman is proud that he’s one of eight broadcasters who have spent at least 45 years with only one big league team.
Tuesday, Ryan Braun added to his impressive homer total at Great American Ball Park, and the Milwaukee Brewers moved a step closer to a wild card berth, beating the Reds 4-2 for their fifth win in a row.
Just like last season, when Milwaukee put on a late rush to take the NL Central title, the Brewers have closed in on a playoff spot with a September flourish.
