Lethal injection bill attracts opposition

COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) – Opponents are lining up to testify at the Statehouse Tuesday against a legislative proposal to shield the names of companies whose drugs are used for lethal injections in Ohio.

The bill introduced a week ago would bar companies from entering into contracts that don’t allow states to acquire drugs for executions.

Supporters say the bill is needed to help restart executions in the state.

Opponents say it’s unconstitutional in parts and can’t guarantee the anonymity it promises.
