Library worker sentenced in child porn case

COLUMBUS – A former employee of the Worthington Public Library has been sentenced to 25 years in prison for posing as an Internet star to trick a 10—year-old girl into sending him explicit photos of herself.

Federal authorities say Darren Kamnitzer, 45, of Blacklick, pleaded guilty in April to charges to charges of producing child pornography after he was accused of posing as the manager for Jacob Sartorious, a teenage singer and internet personality, and asked the girl to send him explicit photos of herself if she wanted to appear in a music video, Benjamin Glassman, U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of Ohio, said.

Swiss authorities learned of the activity, contacted Twitter, who shut down Kamnitzer’s account, tipped off the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children and the FBI took over the investigation, tracing the communication to the Worthington library where Kanmitzer was the network administrator.

A search warrant executed at Kamnitzer’s residence revealed evidence that he had communicated with other minors online, Glassman said.
