Gary Moore, owner of Supergames, in Worthington, is taking a break from making inflatable slides and games for parties and other gatherings to manufacture face shields protect emergency crews from the threat of COVID-19 when working out in the field.
Moore donated six of the shields to the Worthington Division of Fire and EMS and is getting requests from other area agencies.
The equipment has been assigned to the city’s medic vehicles and will be with existing masks and glasses. Not only will the face shields offer more protection but cirt spokeswoman Anne Brown says they may help extend the life of safety masks.
His brother, Tim – who owns a sign manufacturing shop in Delaware — started the process and has also donated face shields.
The Ohio Health Department said it’s received its allotment of personal protective equipment from the national stockpile but said it’s still not enough.
