COLUMBUS – Police are looking for a man they say shot his former girlfriend’s current boyfriend to death on the Southeast Side late Wednesday night.
UPDATE: Columbus police say the body of Dennis Juris (pictured) was found hanging in a barn near Pickerington. It appears he took his own life.
Officers called to a home on New Jersey Court about 10:30 Wednesday night found a man lying on the, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. The critically injured 27-year-old man died at the scene a short time later, Homicide Unit Sgt. Jeff Strayer said.
Strayer says a woman told officers that the man who was shot was her current boyfriend and that an ex-boyfriend shot him.
Authorities say the name of the victim is being withheld pending notification of relatives.
Investigators were searching Thursday for 22-year-old Dennis Michael Juris, who they say had left the scene by the time officers arrived.
This is the 84th homicide of 2015 in Columbus.
