Man accused of stabbing father to death

COLUMBUS – A 20-year-old Northeast Side man has been charged with the stabbing death of his father Saturday night.

Ronald Ray Radford Jr. was arguing with his 62-year-old father, Ronald Sr., inside the younger Radford’s Portobello Drive home at approximately 9:20 p.m. when he allegedly stabbed his 62-year-old father several times, Homicide Unit Sgt. Jeff Strayer said.

Officers called to the scene on a reported stabbing found Ronald Ray Radford Sr. lying inside the home where he was pronounced dead by Columbus Fire personnel, Strayer said.

The younger Radford fled the scene and was taken into custody at a nearby business, Strayer said

He was then questioned by detectives and charged with his father’s murder, Strayer said.

The investigation continues.

This is the 55th homicide of 2018 in Columbus.
