Man arrested for 2010 death

COLUMBUS – A man has been arrested on three felony charges nearly six years after another man died during a fight outside a North Linden gas station.

Investigators with the Columbus Police Homicide Cold Case Unit say Larry Mabry and Rex Cherry were the aggressors in a fight involving four people outside the Shell station at 666 E. Hudson Street on April 29, 2010, and Cherry, 24, died on May 7 as a result of blunt force trauma injuries he suffered.

The other two people involved in the fight suffered knife wounds.

The case was presented to the Franklin County Grand Jury on Wednesday and Mabry, 28, was indicted on charges of murder, felonious assault and attempted murder, holding him accountable for Cherry’s death as a result of his actions, police said.
