COLUMBUS – Columbus police arrested a Granville man Thursday for allegedly assaulting a Short North street artist, reportedly leaving him blind in one eye.

A man later identified as Brendan Baldwin was kicked out of Mike’s Grill, 724 N. High Street, in the afternoon of March 1 for being “belligerent” and returned about an hour and 40 minutes later, when he intentionally hit Kevin “Malcolm” Jones, 63, in the face with a glass bottle, causing extensive facial injuries, said Det. Steve Miller of the Assault Unit.
Jones underwent surgery due to the extent of his injuries at a local hospital but was left blind in one eye, according to a report on WBNS 10-TV.
Baldwin, 30, was identified as the assailant, charged with felonious assault and arrested Thursday at his home on North Street in Granville, Miller said.
