COLUMBUS – A man was arrested early Thursday morning and charged with pointing a laser at a Columbus police helicopter on the Southwest Side.

36yo Eugene Robinson arrested minutes later-3am today.
Other airplanes also hit with the laser.
Laser light came from Hodges Dr. south of Vanderburg.
Laser recovered.

Columbus police say the source of the laser light was traced to a location on Hodges Drive, south of Vanderburg, and Eugene Robinson, 36, was arrested a few minutes later, at approximately 3:00 a.m., according to the Division of Police Twitter feed.
Other aircraft were also hit with the laser, which was recovered during the arrest.
Robinson was charged with pointing a laser at an aircraft, which is a felony.
