COLUMBUS – Authorities have arrested a man wanted in connection with two murders and a third shooting in Ross and Highland counties on Tuesday.
The Highland County Sheriff’s Office received a call at approximately 2:00 p.m. about a man being robbed and struck with a pistol in the head at a home on Ford Avenue in Greenfield, according to a report from WBNS 10-TV.
A deputy arrived at the scene and spoke with the victim. When the deputy went inside to investigate, he found a second victim, a deceased man shot in the chest in the bathroom. That man was later identified as 35-year-old Steven Mottie, Jr.
Deputies later identified 31-year-old Jeffrey Ryan Holsinger, of Greenfield, as the main suspect in the shooting.
Around 3:00 p.m., Ross County Deputies said they were called to a shooting in the 800 block of Rapid Forge Road, outside the village of Bainbridge.
The victim was flown to a local hospital in Columbus. The victim also identified Holsinger as the shooter to authorities.
Deputies received another call around 7:45 p.m. on the report of a third shooting on Browns Chapel Road, also in Ross County. That victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
Authorities were able to track Holsinger to west Columbus where he was apprehended after a foot chase around 10:00 p.m.
Holsinger will be extradited back to Ross County and charges are pending.
