Man arrested in double slaying

COLUMBUS – A domestic argument exploded into violence at a Southeast Side home, leaving two men shot to death and a third facing charges.

Police say Tylan Smith, 21, was charged with two counts of murder in the shooting deaths of Gerald Scott and Aaron McCarroll in a home on Brice Road just before 9:30 a.m.

Patrol officers responding to a report of a domestic disturbance found Smith, 38, and McCarroll, 29, the dead inside the house and Smith still at the scene and in apparent shock, Sgt. Eric Pilya of the Homicide Unit said.

He was taken to Mt. Carmel Hospital in stable condition.

No other details about what led to the shooting were provided in a media release.

These are the 13th and 14th homicides of the year in Columbus.
