COLUMBUS – Police have charged a 48-year-old man with the death of his elderly father in July.

Brian Martin was arrested on Friday on unrelated charges and charged with one count of murder for causing the death of 85-year-old Lee Martin, who died on July 5 from injuries suffered a week earlier, Dat. Robert Connor Jr., of the Homicide Unit, said.
Lee Martin was found inside his home at 62 Martin Avenue early on the morning of June 29, bloodied and confused, by police officers and medics, and was taken to a hospital where he was admitted in critical life-threatening condition, Connor said.
Martin died on July 5 and the Franklin County Coroner’s Office ruled the death a homicide on Aug. 14, Connor said.
Brian Martin has been charged with murder.
