COLUMBUS, Ohio – Columbus police say a three-year-old girl has died and the man who was caring for her is charged with murder.
Alyanna Thompson was taken to Nationwide Children’s Hospital in critical condition on Saturday after what they say was an assault by Tyson Reliford, 24 (above), who was caring for the child while her mother was at work. He was arrested after barricading himself in an apartment with a second child who was unharmed.
Alyanna died on shortly before 2:00 Monday, police say, and Reliford was charged with murder.
He was in jail, with no attorney information available.
A $3 million bond was set for him during a court appearance Monday morning, before the child died.
