COLUMBUS – A 20-year-old man under arrest in Youngstown was charged by Columbus police with the slaying of a teenager on the North Side last month.

Shaiquon Sharpe was arrested by Youngstown police on unrelated charges but was soon charged by authorities in Columbus with the shooting death of Ricky Darthard, found in the backyard of a home on E. 15th Avenue on the morning of August 18, said Sgt. Dave Sicilian of the Columbus Homicide Unit.
Officer found Dathard suffering from multiple gunshot wounds outside the home in the 900 block of E. 15th Avenue just before 8:30 a.m., Sicilian said.
Sharpe has been charged with murder.
Sicilian says the investigation is continuing.
