COLUMBUS – A 20-year-old man is in jail, charged with the murder of another man during a shootout that stemmed from a drug deal gone bad Friday night.

Jarrin Hickman was shot numerous times in the parking lot of a Dollar General store on Chatterton Road in Truro Township at about 6:30 p.m. and was transported to Mt. Carmel East Medical Center where he died.
Qunicy Yelder was shot once in the head and is currently being treated at Mt. Carmel East Medical Center.
Franklin County Sheriff’s Office detectives investigating the case determined that Hickman, 28, allegedly shot Yelder, 19, while trying to buy marijuana from Yelder and 20 year-old Varmunyah Dunor, Sheriff Dallas Baldwin said.
After the shooting incident, Dunor chased Hickman through the parking lot where he shot him multiple times and then fled the scene.
Detectives arrested Dunor and charged him with Hickman’s murder. Dunor is currently being held in the Franklin County Jail, Baldwin said.
The case is still under investigation.
