Man dead in Linden double shooting

COLUMBUS – Police are looking for clues in a double shooting that left a man dead in North Linden early Saturday.

Officers responding to a reported shooting at a home in the 1400 block of Gennessee Avenue at 3:41 a.m. found Donavon Williams, 24, and Larry Rigsbee III, 27, lying in front of the address suffering from gunshot wounds, Homicide Unit Sgt. Jeff Strayer said.

Williams was pronounced dead about 30 minutes later by paramedics, Strayer said. Rigsbee was treated at an area hospital for a minor wound and is expected to recover.

Strayer says witnesses could only give police a vague description of the suspect as a black male.

The investigation continues.

This is the 70th Homicide in Columbus in 2016.
