COLUMBUS – A triple shooting on the East Side Wednesday morning left one man dead and two others in the hospital, one in critical condition, according to Columbus police.

Gunfire erupted at 11:02 a.m. after a fight involving four people broke out outside the Quick Stop Convenience Store, 2776 E. 5th Avenue, and continued inside the business, Homicide Unit Sgt. Dave Sicilian said.

Tommie Brown, 21, was shot repeatedly and died at Grant Medical Center less than 30 minutes later.

Kris Pace, 23, was taken to OSU Medical Center in critical but stable condition and William Brown, 24, walked into the emergency room at OSU Medical Center East with a minor wound.

Pace and Brown are both expected to survive, Sicilian said.

Police say Pace and Brown were involved in a fight when an unknown fourth person pulled out a handgun and opened fire.
