COLUMBUS – A 24-year-old man was killed and a 16-year-old boy was injured in a shooting incident during what police say was a home invasion-style robbery in North Linden Tuesday night.
Officers responding to a reported shooting at 1251 Genessee Avenue shortly before 9:20 p.m. found Jamel Jackson and the teenager, whose name was not released, suffering from injuries, homicide detectives said.
Both were taken to area hospitals where Jackson, 24, was pronounced dead, police said.
This is the 59th homicide of 2015 in Columbus.
