COLUMBUS – Police have named no suspects in a shooting at a Northeast Side grocery store Thursday night that left a man dead and a teenage girl in critical condition.
Homicide investigators say a man walked into the La Michoacana Market, 3881 Cleveland Avenue, just after 8:40 p.m. and opened fire with an assault rifle, hitting the two victims, who were behind the counter.
Bacilio Alcauter, 36, was pronounced dead at the scene and a 15-year-old girl was taken to an area hospital in critical condition.
The motive unknown but police say it does not appear to be an attempted robbery.
This is the 73rd homicide of 2015 in Columbus Ohio.
