COLUMBUS – A 26-year-old Columbus man was killed Friday while walking along some railroad tracks in Prairie Township in western Franklin County, Sheriff Dallas Baldwin said.
Witnesses told deputies that Daniel Castillo-Fuente was walking westbound on the railroad tracks near Hubbard Road at approximately 7:10 p.m. when he was struck by a westbound Norfolk Southern freight train approximately ¾ of a mile west of Hubbard Road, Baldwin said.
The incident remains under investigation.
