COLUMBUS – Police say a man whose body was found in a South Linden alley Monday night had been shot.
This is the 41st homicide of the year in Columbus.
UPDATE 5/16/19 6:56 a.m.: The victim has been identified as John Mabrey, 34.
Officers responding to a report of an unresponsive man in the alley behind a home in the 900 block of E. 19th Avenue on at 6:05 p.m. found the victim, who was pronounced dead by Columbus fire personnel, Det. Matt Grasham of the Homicide Unit said.
An autopsy determined that the man had been.
His name has been withheld until the family is notified, Grasham said.
