COLUMBUS – A man was killed in a one-car accident on the East Side Sunday night though the small child and the woman driving the van survived.
Columbus police say Jessica Leffler lost control of her 2002 Honda Odyssey while driving eastbound on I-70 at Hamilton Road and drove off the left side of the roadway just before 8:20 p.m.
She swerved back onto the highway and crossed three lanes of traffic before hitting a guardrail on the south side of the interstate where Roy Gohr, 26, who was sitting in the front passenger seat, was thrown from the vehicle, accident investigators said.
Leffler’s vehicle across the highway a second time and came to rest in the median, police said.
Gohr was pronounced dead at the scene.
Leffler, 26, and Savannah Duncan, 4, listed in stable condition at area hospitals.
