COLUMBUS – Police say a man was killed and two of his dogs injured during an apparent home-invasion holdup in North Linden early Thursday morning.

Witnesses told police that someone went inside the home in the 800 block of E. North Broadway just before 2:30 a.m. and shot Connor Robert Reynolds two of the five dogs that were inside the home, Homicide Unit third shift supervisor Sgt. Jeff Strayer said.
Officers were alerted at approximately 2:33 a.m. that a shooting victim had been driven to Riverside Methodist Hospital by friends.
Reynolds, 23, arrived at Riverside Methodist Hospital in extremely critical condition and eventually succumbed to his injuries. He was pronounced deceased at 5:55 a.m., Strayer said.
The dogs were in stable condition, according to a post on a Columbus Division of Police social media site.
The investigation continues.
This is the 56th homicide in Columbus in 2018.
