COLUMBUS – Police are looking for clues to the city’s latest homicide, the death of a man whose body was found lying between buildings at a Northeast Side apartment complex Sunday morning.
Columbus police and fire personnel responding to a report of a body lying between buildings just east of an address on Belcher Drive in the Whispering Oaks Apartments at approximately 7:16 a.m. Sunday, said Sgt. Dave Sicilian of the Homicide Unit.
Kamal Abdulahi ShekMohamed, 26, was pronounced dead at the scene, the victim of an apparent homicide, Sicilian said.
The investigation continues.
This is the 83rd homicide in Columbus in 2017.
