Man killed, both drivers hurt in head-on crash

COLUMBUS — A head-on crash on the Southeast Side Saturday morning left a man dead and both drivers injured.

The accident occurred shortly after 3:00 a.m. when a car driven southbound on Courtright Road by 49-year-old Ollie Morris crossed the center line north of Groves Road and struck a northbound car driven by 29-year-old Lakisha Williams according Sgt. Brooke Wilson of the Accident Investigation Unit.

Morris, 49, and his male passenger were taken to Mount Carmel East Hospital where the passenger, whose name has not been released, was pronounced dead shortly after arrival, Wilson said. Morris was treated for minor injuries.

Williams was taken to Grant Medical Center where Wilson says she was admitted in serious, but non-life-threatening condition.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
