COLUMBUS – Police say a 63-year-old man was killed when he was struck by an SUV while walking on a street on the Southeast Side Tuesday night.
Kenneth Pittman, of Columbus, Ohio was walking eastbound in the lane of travel on Refugee Road, near Weyburn Road, at 8:48 p.m. when he was hit by a Chevrolet Equinox driven by Mary Salvito, Sgt. Brooke Wilson of the Accident Investigation Unit said.
Pittman was transported to Grant Medical Center where he was pronounced dead, the 57th traffic fatality of the year in Columbus.
Police did not list any charges against Salvito but the investigation continues, Wilson said.
