COLUMBUS – Police say a pedestrian died after being struck by a vehicle on I-70 on the East Side early Sunday morning
Columbus police say Jahlil Woodie was walking eastbound on the median center line of I-70 east of James Road at 4:21 Sunday morning when he was struck by the left side of a vehicle traveling westbound, driven by Curtis Canty.
He was transported to a Grant Medical Center and died a few hours later.
Woodie’s age and hometown were not immediately released.
Police say speed and alcohol were not factors in the crash. No charges had been filed but the investigation is continuing.
