COLUMBUS, Ohio – Police say an armed man was shot to death while trying to break into a Far West Side home late Friday night.
A resident of 556 Station Street called 911 at 10:17 p.m. to report that he had shot a man who forced his way into the caller’s home with a gun.
Patrol officers Brandon Bolin, 19, inside the home where he was pronounced dead.
After interviewing the resident and several witnesses and releasing them, no charges were immediately filed, according to detectives with the Homicide Unit. The incident remains under investigation.
This is the 86th Homicide of 2014 in Columbus.
